NEW CLASSES-Spring 2012
All of the above classes are for beginners except Solder 2 and 3-for these you must have the solder #1 class. If you have certain days only that you can take a class and on that day someother class is offered, don't hesitate to telephone because if the class is not full we can change that day over to your needs. If you want to learn to solder this is the place: maximun students at one time is 3.
Spinner Ring
A fun class for everyone. Involves a little bit of soldering but previous soldering classes not needed. Come in and learn some metalsmithing techniques, have some fun and wear out a new ring.
Class is done in all Sterling Silver, takes about 2 hours and cost $40.00/class and $17.00 for materials.

Stackable Cabochon Rings
A new spring class for everyone-no soldering skills needed-learn sweat soldering and bezel stone setting. Come in and make three sterling silver stackable cabochon rings. Class provides 5mm glass cabochons of different colores but if you wish semi precious or precious stones many may be had at additional prices. Class takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours, $50.00/class plus $25.00/sterling and glass cabochons.
6 Prong Sterling Silver Ring
You'll do lite soldering and filing to be able to wear this ring out of the
class.
2-3 Hour Class-$50.00 plus $14.00 for Sterling and 6mm clear CZ.
Trio of Sterling Silver Bangles
You will twist wires to produce two bangles and the third will be done by texturing. Make them to fit you or someone else.
2 hour Class$40.00 plus $30.00 in Sterling Silver.
Cabochon Sterling Silver Bracelet
Texture the wire then solder a bezel cup to it, create clasp and mount stone. Simple! Come enjoy the fun.

Tube Setting Twisted Ring
Use a flexshaft tool to make the tube mount and solder it to 1/2 round sterling wire. Beautiful ring to wear and learn somethings about a flexshaft tool.Class 2 hours $40.00 plus $12.00 for sterling silver and 4mm CZ.

Sterling Rolled Bead Cabochon Necklace
This is a two day class for beginners-learn how to solder, mark and cut metal, file, sand and smooth. Ist day we will make the cabochon. Second day we will concentrate on making the rolled beads and the " s " catch. Then we will string the finished piece for you to wear.
Class is $150 plus materials $283(Nov. 2011 pricing-the material price may fluctuate as the price of silver changes)
Sterling Silver River Ring
Make this beautiful sterling silver River Ring. A beginner class, you will saw, shape, file and solder sterling. Approx. 4hour class- $105 for class and sterling.
4prs. Copper Earrings
Use a scribe, jewelers saw, texture metal, hole punching and use a butane torch to add color. Approx. 3 hours-$30 includes copper and use of equipment .
Metalsmithing with Noel or Barb-Soldering Classes
We are offering every Tuesday and Saturday the soldering classes. Three stations open to first come first serve each day. Advanced booking helps you and me. Learn soldering, forming, texturing and bezel setting.
Class pics.
1st Soldering Class--take wire and turn it into a charm bracelet. It's mainly about soldering but some other jewelry making tools you will learn to use(scribe, vise, files, sandpaper and flush cutter). $75.00 for a 4 hour class-includes: tool use, instruction and your choice of 20ga Sterling or 14ga Copper. If you wish a different gauge in sterling, an additional charge would be added. If you don't finish within the 4 hours and wish to continue, studio rental runs $15 per hour.
We are also offering studio time on saturdays and sundays for $15 per hour. This fee covers tool rental, jewelers bench space and
some instruction.
Metalsmithing carries with it some potential dangers. To minimize the possibility of injury or damage, we are asking you to and abide by the following rules and practices.
Protective gear: You must wear protective eye wear and apron(provided for you). Your clothing should fit close to your body and your hair should be pulled back or covered. Your clothing should be cotton and you should not use hair spray or other flammable hair products.
Use of the torch: You must always be aware of wether your torch is on or off and where it is pointed. Always work on fire-proof surface
and return the soldering tool to its position and pointed away from you when not in use. Always refill torch outside to avoid making fumes.
Hygiene: There are fumes produced by soldering and flux. You should be careful not to breathe these and also to avoid getting the flux on your skin or in your eyes. Do not eat or drink while you are soldering and wash your hands before putting them in your eyes or mouth and after you have finished your task.
Burn prevention: Do not touch the tip of your torch, or the area just soldered.
Depending on the project, other safety rules may be made at the discretion of the instructor. These rules are for your safety and must
be followed. Should your instructor deem you to be a danger to yourself, others or property, you will be dismissed from the class with no refund.
Please,NO loose clothing, (clothing should be made of natural fibers: wool, cotton, etc, not of synthetic products.)NO long sleeves and long hair must be tied back. Wearing jewelry during class is not advisable.
2nd Solder Class-
Learn to make a Toggle Clasp in Sterling Silver: Use a jewelers saw, metal hole punch, bezel making, sweat soldering, cabochon setting, texturing with a mill and what you just might not know.
Come join us-$92.00 (Nov. 2011 pricing) includes, sterling silver, semi precious stone, use of jewelers bench and tools-should take less than 3 hours.
Safety instructions the same as above.
Third Soldering ClassLearn Cabochon bezel making and make a pendant or a single, double or three band ring.
$75.00 class fee plus $42.00 for material-(sterling silver)-plus stone.

Copper Fold Formed Cuff
This beginners class is about hammering and relieving stress. Learn how to make this cuff and the magical fun of fold forming. What patenias are and how to use them. Most anyone can do this and more.
